In this essay will outline and focus on the environment of a commercial kitchen, and will also be highlighting the importance of teamwork within a kitchen. Some examples of personal experiences I have had in the past, regarding teamwork will also be included. A kitchen in the hotel industry can be described as hot, hard work, intense and stressful. It is a physically demanding job, as there are long hours and one is expected to stand for long periods of time. Working in a kitchen in the hospitality industry gives you teamwork skills as you are working with different people to achieve good results, which are good food, with quality service. Successful teamwork in a kitchen is important, as it enables the kitchen to run smoothly when open for service. Maintaining a sense of professionalism in the work place at all time is essential. Having fun in the kitchen is always good, but there is a line that should not be crossed.
